We recently asked some our current clients to share their experience with Smarter Financial Solutions. The following is one of our current client’s interview Qs. No compensation was given to any promoters interviewed.

Meet our client, V. Trotta.

Q: How did you find out about Smarter Financial Solutions?
A: I was referred to the firm by a colleague and friend who knew I was looking for a financial planner.

Q: What led you to the decision to reach out to Smarter Financial Solutions?
A: Like many others, I put my retirement savings on automatic pilot. I was nearing retirement and wanted to know if I had enough money saved to retire and given my savings, how much I might rely on as an annual income. I was also in the market for a custodian for my 401(K) proceeds. I should have done it much sooner in my work life, probably at the time of my divorce, as their guidance would have resulted in an even stronger financial situation.

Q:  What about their process attracted you to them and made you choose them as a partner in managing your wealth?

A: At my initial meeting, using a questionnaire, they elicited a lot of information from me: what my financial goals were, the extent of my existing assets and debt. We talked about my family and other interpersonal obligations, what my specific dreams for my retirement were, and what my risk tolerance was. With that information, they created a financial plan for my review.  They also spent a good deal of time introducing themselves, their experience, their philosophy of financial stewardship, and what I could expect from them as a partner in my financial future. They answered all my questions about custodianship, oversight, and communications. I am not a completely uninformed investor, but I knew I could not competently manage my own investments. I chose SFS because they were clearly competent, transparent, and trustworthy.

Q:  What makes Smarter Financial Solutions different than other wealth advisory firms?

A: I don’t know as SFS is the only firm I have worked with. Comparing them with my 401K company, which is basically a sales operation, I will say that I trust that they have my best financial interest at heart, as opposed to their own.

Q: What are three words or phrases you would use to describe your experience working with Smarter Financial  Solutions?

A: Approachable, Communicative, Competent

Q: Why do you trust the Smarter Financial Solutions team with your finances?

A: I considered handing over my life’s savings somewhat of a traumatic experience.  For the reasons outlined above, I believe Nancy Hetrick and her team to be competent, trustworthy, and fulfilling their fiduciary duty of looking out for my financial wellbeing.
